Welina, and welcome to the official gay pride page for the Hawai`i State Pride Fest. The Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established in 2007 by Mr. Pat Miller, Mr. Jonz Stoneroad and Mrs. Kathy Miller. The organization was formed directly after the closing of the Aloha Pride Center, Hawaii’s former gay pride center which annually produced the Gay Pride Parade and Festival events.
Our mission of the Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation is through demonstration to educate our Pride Aloha Spirit Culture to all humankind, honor our heritage & rejoice our society’s freedom.
Our goal is to exceed our previous years attendance to 3000. The more education leads us to the ultimate goal of understanding and acceptance.
This year we are concentrating all our efforts on the Pride Festival. This will take place on June 2, 2012, at McCoy Pavilion, in Ala Moana Beach Park following the Parade.
Our ohana also includes the Triple M Council who produces the Mister, Miss and Ms gay pride contest. Their organization, since 1985 along with the honolulu gay community has produced ambassadors to represent our Gay Pride community. Our affiliates are: Interpride, the official international pride organization which helps to governs the 160+ Gay Pride organizations around the world, CAPI (Consolidated Association of Pride Inc.) which helps to govern the west-coast pride organizations, The IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association), The IGLA (International Gay and Lesbian Association), The HVCB (Hawai`i Visitors and Convention Bureau), and lastly the Tokyo Rainbow Pride organization.
We would like to thank you for visiting us today. We hope that you will be encouraged to visit us in person and create memorable experiences that you will treasure forever. Please reach out to other organizations, businesses and individuals which have continued to support our Hawai`i gay community, as well as others around the world.
