Continuing an eighteen year tradition in the LGBTQ community, the Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation is taking hold of an opportunity for change.
In February 2008 the annual Honolulu Pride Festival was slated for cancellation. Three individuals stepped forward to form the Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation. A non-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to create and facilitate a festival, parade and celebration of LGBTQ pride while promoting diversity and a sense of community as well as networking aspects of Honolulu’s communities and it’s individuals, groups, organizations and businesses.
Working 24/7 from coffee shops, restaurants, their homes and even from the back of a mini-van; Pat Miller, Jonz Stoneroad & Kathy Miller have begun building this all new non-profit organization from the ground up. We three, of the Honolulu PFF, are proud to have gained the support of many local businesses and individuals of our community. Our current fundraising programs include Big City Diner, Odyssey Magazine, DaKine Magazine, In-Between, Fusion Waikiki, Tapa’s Restaurant & Bar, Chiko’s…and many more. These activities have shown us a well of enthusiastic support from the community.
But, (and, it seems, there is always a “but”) these programs will not generate enough funding to meet the expense of this years festival.
We now present to you an opportunity to support our efforts, and help keep this tradition alive.
Make a contribution.
All monies received are put into the production of the festival and we are an all volunteer organization, we receive no salaries.
